CPD - ASSESSMENT & EVIDENCE REFERENCING

Assessment Planning

The Plan

  • The Assessment plan gives a precise summary of the evidence the learner is presenting for each component being assessed.
Assessment Plan

The Evidence

In the example above the Learner is presenting three types of evidence for a single Unit which will be assessed within the framework of a single, coherent professional discussion:

  1. The Critical Incident (CI) reflective account
  2. Items the learner has produced (emails, notes, files etc)
  3. Statements from, or opportunities for the Assessor to talk to, clients, colleagues and/or their supervisor.

The Learner reckons the CI covers all components of the Unit being assessed but detail may not be sufficient once it is being discussed so either the Assessor will have to probe during the Professional Discussion (eg "Can you show me an example of how x happens", or " Do you have any evidence to prove that you can do y/ know about z").
